To the Board of Regents
    of the Universityof Nebraska,

J. S. Dales Secretary: -

I am instructed

to transmit to your Honorable Body the
following memorial which was unanimously
adopted by the academic Faculty: -

To the Honorable Board of Regents -

    The Faculty deems it desirable to
call your attention to the present management of
the Latin School, and would recommend that
hereafter students preparing for the academic college
be known and clarified as members of the
first and second sub-freshman classes; that the
immediate direction and supervision of this
department of study be placed in the professors
of that (the academic) department; that the su-
preme control, including examinations for admission,
course of study, discipline, and registration,
