In the correspondence with one of the head millers of the state of Nebraska in the Spring of 1916 Avery writes: "Before going into executive work I had some standing as an authority on the chemistry of flour and other food products. My relations with the millers of the state have always been most cordial and pleasant and if I can now render them any service I shall be very glad to do so."
