A Lasting Legacy
The efforts of so many students were well spent. Today the University has a 24 Hour Guest policy (provided guests are accompanied by a resident and comply with all other University policy). This policy even extends to co-ed visitation, though opposite sex guests are not allowed to sleep over in a resident’s room. To protect the privacy of roommates, each room is encouraged to write their own visitation hours into their roommate contracts and each guest is only allowed to visit for 96 hours each month. This policy is a well struck, though hard won, compromise for the students and the University.
