This project was created to show that the passion of Husker football had a point in history where it really took off, sending it on the path that has led to where it is today. 

This is meant to be one stop in the history of the storied Nebraska Cornhuskers football program. The story of the trip to Oregon is one that many people would never think about, because it happened such a long time ago. However, it played a major role in the growth of Husker spirit and through this web page, it is easily viewed. While simple, the website allows the viewer to look at the step-by-step process of the October, 1916 road trip. From Lincoln, to western Nebraska, to Laramie, Wyoming, to Idaho, to Portland, Oregon and back, Nebraska football would never be the same. 

The investment made to make this project, through digitizing many pieces of historical information from the Archives & Special Collections were compiled in this website in a way that makes it very easy to read. The story is told in a chronological order, but the items can each be navigated individually, for those looking for bits and pieces, rather than the big picture.
