AWS Court
The AWS Court was the judicial branch of the AWS and consisted of members who met once a week to go over the residence halls sign-in sheet infringements and the women who broke the rules attended the AWS Court to plead their case. The Dean of Women advised the AWS Court and the Notifications Chairman ran the proceedings.
There were various infringements, including not signing in or out of the residence hall or sorority house, or being late on week nights and weekends. The girls who attended the AWS Court were asked to comment on their infringements and the committee would decide if the women were to be excused or not.
Here is an example of the AWS Court Minutes from 1959 in which two girls were caught sneaking back into the dorms after curfew and a sign out sheet from 1956.
