Prejudice in Nebraska May Cost University Many Thousands
LINCOLN, Neb., Dec. 1. The John D. Rockefeller donation of $67,000 for a University of Nebraska building, devoted to religious and scientific study is not likely to be accepted, for the reason that the remaining $33,000 to be contributed by the State or friends of the university cannot be raised.
The committee which for months has been working to raise the amount has about abandoned its task and has little hope of success. The prejudice against Mr. Rockefeller and opposition to accepting any sort of gift from him is accepted as the cause of failure.
