Labor-Saving Devices

One of the largest portions of the photograph collection is the "Labor Savers" category. As the name implies, these pictures and negatives are of devices designed to ease the traditionally, highly laborious lifestyle of a farmer.

An interesting thing about the photographs in this category is that most of the devices in the pictures were homemade by farmers and ranchers from across the state of Nebraska. They do a good job of illustrating the ingenuity and resourcefulness of these early 20th Century farmers.
