Agriculture Education and Outreach
One of the primary functions of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) is teaching. This not only includes students at UNL but also the many farmers and ranchers from across the state. This mission to educate is also reflected in the photograph collection. Below are a few pictures that illustrate some of the teaching and outreach programs that CASNR uses to achieve this goal.
A parade float made to emphasize the importance of hygiene when raising pigs. The float was made by the Department of Animal Pathology and Hygiene. |
An unknown wood shop. This can be identified as an early picture due to the fact that all of the tools are belt driven off of the same electric motor. |
A picture of women in an early wood shop. It shows that women were given a chance to actively participate in CASNR as well as men. |
Men working in a machine shop on some very early steel wheeled tractors. The tractors were all of different makes and models but new enough to have internal combustion engines. |
