Original Charter for the University of Nebraska
(Excerpt)
Sect. 18 No person shall, because of age, sex, color, or nationality be deprived of the
privileges of this institution. Permission shall be made for the Education of females apart from male students in separate apartments or buildings, provided that person of different sexes of the same proficiency of study, may attend the regular college lectures together.
