Greek Grave Yard
The Greek community at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is one of
the countries largest in terms of numbers of chapters with fifty.
While this number is staggering, it used to be higher. Here is a look at
some of the chapter's that we have lost over the last 130 years.
Sororities- Delta Zeta- closed in the 1970's
- Zeta Tau Alpha- closed in the 1980's
- Alpha Delta Theta (National sorority merged with Phi Mu in 1939)
- Alpha Sigma Phi (Local)
- Phi Omega Pi (Local)
- Sigma Delta Tau (Local)
- Sigma Kappa- Alpha Kappa chapter closed in the 1970's
- Towne Club (Non-Greek Local)- closed 2006
Fraternities- Kappa Sigma- Alpha Psi chapter closed in the late 1990's
- Sigma Alpha Mu- the campuses first Jewish fraternity, Sigma
Omicron chapter closed in the 1980s
- Alpha Theta Chi (Local)
- Delta Sigma Phi- chapter closed in the early 1990's
- Delta Sigma Lambda
- Zeta Beta Tau (Local)
- Brown Palace, Inc (Non-Greek letter local)
