Greek Grave Yard

The Greek community at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is one of the countries largest in terms of numbers of chapters with fifty. While this number is staggering, it used to be higher. Here is a look at some of the chapter's that we have lost over the last 130 years.



Sororities
  • Delta Zeta- closed in the 1970's

  • Zeta Tau Alpha- closed in the 1980's

  • Alpha Delta Theta (National sorority merged with Phi Mu in 1939)

  • Alpha Sigma Phi (Local)

  • Phi Omega Pi (Local)

  • Sigma Delta Tau (Local)

  • Sigma Kappa- Alpha Kappa chapter closed in the 1970's

  • Towne Club (Non-Greek Local)- closed 2006

  • Kappa Sigma- Alpha Psi chapter closed in the late 1990's
