Dear Sir

I have this day sent to your address by Express $740 in coin and $62 in Gold dust, being $702, which please place or keep in your hands until Mr Walker is heard from. He seems to deal with me as if we were scamps instead of treating with us in a business like and gentlemanly manner. These funds are intended to apply on his War—rant a/c and you may use them as you see fit, I holding you responsible for the same.

Your statement is at hand and I have not as yet had time to look it over.

John McConihe
