Dear Sir
I want you should send me $1000 by Express in your currency I have an opportunity to loan it to the Territory for one year @ 10 per cent interest and can get the stock considerably below its face, so that I can make something out of it. The Legislation has passed a good revenue law and will pay in a year, as soon as the taxes are collected.
I will pay you 12 pr ct, unless you can do better by me. The bills will get

a good circulation, as there will be little freight money paid this fall and I will attend to paying it out my—self in small amounts. Will send you the stock as security, on the note, you hold, or will give you any other security you may wish. The taxes will be collected in July and there can be no doubt about the investment. Dont delay to send it. Will write more fully soon. The Legislation has adjourned and my duties as Private Secretary are mere nominal, The pay though continues @ 50 per month.
