My dear Dean Pound:-
We are delighted that you can give the Commencement oration on June 13. President Roosevelt and General Pershing are among those who have accepted honorary degrees, though probably President Roosevelt will not be in Lincoln until the next day, and as you know, we may soon hear of General Pershing's arrival in France.
I assume that your sisters in the city will look after your entertainment and see that you arrive at my office in time for the procession. I shall, of course, be glad to show you any courtesies that I can during your brief stay in Lincoln.
Yours very sincerely,
