Dear Mr. Grajeda:
During the second semester of the 1970-71 academic year there were several meetings and private discussions concerned with improving educational and cultural opportunities of special interest to the Mexican-American community. A number of conclusions were reached as to significant steps to be taken as we enter the next academic year.
You have been a member of a committee that was formed in June, 1971, to serve in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This committee consists of representatives from the Mexican-American community, the faculty and the student body. A originally structured, there were four or five representatives from each of the categories mentioned.
By means of this letter I am asking if you would be willing to accept an additional one-year appointment to this committee. Will you please drop me a note or telephone my secretary, Mrs. Brown, 472-2116, to let me know whether you will be able to accept this assignment.
Cordially yours,
James H. Zumberge
