Description
This is the AWS Constitution printed in the 1968 AWS Handbook. It explains the purpose of the organization:
1. To further the spirit of unity among women of the University of Nebraska and to foster a personal sense of responsibility to themselves and to the university.
2. To stimulate awareness of the opportunities and needs of educated women.
3. To encourage a successful balance of scholastic endeavor, social life and extracurricular activities.
4. To administer a representative form of government whereby the interests of all women students shall be served and to cooperate with the University of Nebraska in formulating and administrating policed and regulations which pertain to those women students.
5. To consider any matter of concern to women students and to offer a means of expression and action.
The AWS Constitution also breaks down the various "branches" and positions within the organization.
