Shall We Dance?

Semi-Formals were a chance for women to dress up for a night of dancing with fellow Greek members. The pictures from the fifties depict the ladies of Tri-Delta doing a final once over of their dresses before a dance. The cards below depict the conrolled element of the dance, in which your dance partners sign their name and Greek letters coorelating to the dance. Formals and Semi-formals are still popular in the Greek community today, making possible for sisters to relive the tradition of formal dates and dances.

Using dance cards such as these made it possible to have other dance partners, whether you brought a date or not. Dance cards were usually handed in at the end of the evening to house mothers.
