To the Honorable
Board or Regents of the University of Nebraska-
Gentleman:

I desire to call your attention to the necessity of continuing the appropriation for attendance in the library, the last appropriation expiring this term.
The Library and Reading Room are kept open 6 hours each school day and they were also kept open during the summer vacation.
Since the institution of afternoon recitations it is found necessary to require the attendance of the assistant 4 hours each day, the Librarian spending the remaining 2 hours- the only regularly vacant hours which he has- there as instructors allow.
I would respectfully suggest that you take into consideration the desirability of providing for the opening of the library, and reading room for a greater number of hours a day

Geo. E. Howard
Librarian
