Dear John
I may be compelled to draw on you for $200 or $300 in case I do not receive funds from Denver City by Sundays express. Our train has arrived safely at Denver, but was delayed 12 days on the road on account of impassible streams swolen [sic] at the time it arrived on their banks. It will be only a temporary loan as within two weeks I shall be flush. I made calcula—tions on its arrival here, but the unavoidable delay has frustrated them.
Omaha and your friend the un—dersigned will move on despite the Civil war and consequent casualties, that our Country is now and must endure.
Respectfully John McConihe
I hear you are to be married!! Oh John!! Who thought it!!
