Friend John

I drew on you yesterday at eight for $175 having got in a "tight spot."

Sold the West 44ft of Lot 5—121. $100 to be paid to day [sic], $1000 or $1500 on Monday and the balance of the $2600# in 60 days a 4 pr.ct. a month. If fully carried out it will be the best sale this season. I can buy property cheap, shall I put the money in again? Or shall I hold on and do otherwise. It might be well as things are "some unhorsed," to wait a little; as you feel. I think there is money in property at present prices, for then is no, no money in anymans [sic] pocket.

Will write you soon again. Answer this on receipt.

Yours truly,

J MacConihe
