Camp Life Articles

From 1942-1945, the War Relocation Camps ranged in size between 8,000 and 19,000 internees. Because of their size, the camps could be considered small cities. As with other cities, the camps had hospitals, fire departments, and churches. They also had mess halls and wash rooms for the residents. Activities and social events were also created to help pass the time for the internees. In the camps, the internees participated in activities such as baseball, school, and church.
