The Komensky Club 1916

The 1916 Komensky club entry in the Cornhusker and list of 1916 officers. According to this entry there were over 1,200 members in thirty different chapters around America. They also state that the goal of the organization was to encourage higher education among Bohemian-Americans. Very impressive when the original goal was to establish Czech language, literature and cultural studies at the University of Nebraska. Slavic Program Chairman Šárka B. Hrbkova is the third from the right on the bottom row.
